Heights Weekly Newsletter: End of school year edition

June 17th, 2019

News & Announcements

A Fond Farewell... As the end of another school year is upon us, I just wanted to thank everyone who, over the past few years, has volunteered as room parents or during PTO events, as well as, all the families who participated in and attended PTO functions!  It has been truly rewarding to lead the charge as PTO Chair and help promote an engaging and exciting learning environment for all our Heights kids!  I have had the pleasure of watching countless faces smiling with joy over the years and did my best to provide a warm, inviting, and welcoming place to build our Heights community!

As my term on the PTO Board ends, I reflect on all the people I've met and inspirational moments I have witnessed.  There is no better reflection of the wonderful community of which we belong than by the many amazing kids I have watched learn, grow, & create everlasting friendships at our events over the years!  While I will still often be seen in the hallways of Heights Elementary (albeit on a less regular basis!), I am thankful to still have 3 more years as a Heights parent to continue to volunteer & to enjoy watching all that the incredible teachers & staff do for our kids on a daily basis!

We are extremely lucky to have the passionate, devoted, and intelligent teachers & administration we have at our school and I have been so lucky to get to know each and every one of them!

Enjoy your summer breaks... and we'll see you all again in August for another memorable year!

With gratitude, Trisha Lee Heights PTO Chair

Get Involved with Book Fair!  A Message from Melissa Trudeau, Book Fair Chairperson:

Book Fair sound interesting to you?  Would you like to become even more involved?  Still have a few years left at Heights?  Please feel free to contact me at melissasmail@yahoo.com as I will be looking for volunteer(s) to learn our Book Fair process and to eventually become a new leader or co-leader in this role.  In addition to the Book Fair being a fun way to raise money for the school, it’s also a great way to meet all the teachers as well as the many Heights families that shop at Book Fair!

Thinking About Being a Room Parent Next Year? This year may be winding down...but that's no reason you can't start thinking about next year!  WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A ROOM PARENT???  Please send an email to Trisha Lee at trwhite00@yahoo.com if you're interested!  An email will be sent at the end of the summer so you can let us know your teacher assignments and then room parents will be notified!

Become a Steward of Our Children and Our Planet! Volunteer with the composting and recycling program at Heights! You need to complete your CORI paperwork and then you can control your schedule - just pop in and get started.  Please email Kathleen Nasti, SPS Recycling Coordinator to get started!
