Welcome Back to School Picnic: See you this Friday!!
We hope that all of you have been having an amazing start of the year, and have settled in to school!
A reminder that the Welcome Back to School Picnic is just three days away! This is a wonderful chance for you to meet and spend time with your child's old and new friends with their families!!
A few reminders and highlights: This Friday, September 13th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, at the Heights Elementary PlaygroundOpen to ALL grades, kids and parents!Bring your own food!A Kona Ice Truck will be on site, bring cash!Please use plenty of bug spray on yourselves and your children!A PTO table will be set up, for any questions you have about the PTO. Come meet the parents behind the PTO, ask us everything you ever wanted to know!
Have you become a Heights PTO Member yet?
The membership form that came in your child's backpack sitting on a forgotten pile on your dining table? Just a reminder to send it in, or become a member online within minutes! Your membership dollars will support educational programs, equipment, and events. All members of the PTO will receive a school directory (a listing of all Heights families, class lists, and Heights phone and email information). As a member, you will have the right to vote on PTO initiatives and in elections. Becoming a member does NOT require you to attend meetings!
Room Parents Needed!
Most of the room parent slots have fast filled up. There is still an opportunity for parents of the below classrooms to get involved, and be a liaison between the PTO and all the parents of your child's classmates!

Picture Day is coming up!
The Heights Elementary Picture Day is scheduled for Friday, September 20th!
You are able to easily order school pictures online at mylifetouch.com, before Friday, September 20th
Heights Open House Dates
The Open House provides parents an opportunity to visit your child's classroom.
The scheduled dates are as follows: Wednesday, September 18th, 2019, 6:45 PM: Grades K-2Thursday, September 19th, 2019, 7:00 PM: Grades 3-5 The open house format is NEW this year! Parents have the opportunity to attend the Open House with their children, and will spend their time in the classrooms.
Heights PTO Book Fair
The Heights PTO Book Fair will be open before and after the Open House! So make sure to come early to get your child's wish list books!
Book Fair runs from 6:05 PM - 8:00 PM. Visit before or after your Open House times!
This year we will also have Heights Gear for sale - an introductory price just for the Open House only!

Box Tops are Back!
Save your Box Tops!
Heights will continue to participate in the Box Tops For Education Program this year. It’s a great opportunity to earn money for our school by clipping box tops or scanning your receipts to the Box Top For Education app. Our first collection day will be Tuesday, Oct 29th during school lunch periods.
Mainspring
The Heights PTO is proud to continue our tradition this year of providing packed lunches to a local homeless shelter. This program starts in October, more details to come soon!
Library Volunteers Needed!

The Heights Library is in need of volunteers to come in once a week from 9:30-10:30.
Responsibilities include checking books in, shelving books, organizing, and occasional special projects. If you’re interested, please fill out this form.
