EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING
What is educational programming?
Each year the PTO sponsors 1-2 programs for each grade. The Educational Programming Committee works with grade level teachers to research and understand the curriculum, source relevant educational programs, and handle the scheduling. Every student at Heights participates and benefits from these exciting and education-enriching programs.
Just a few examples of past programs:
Moose Hill’s Maple Sugaring
Moose Hill (Field Trip): The Signs of the Season and Senses Galore
Discovery Museum’s Physical Changes of Matter
Discovery Museum’s Weather and Climate Program
Discovery Museum’s Sound Waves Program
Museum of Science Starlab
Historical performance: Susan B Anthony
Historical performance: Anne Frank
Physical Changes in Matter via the Discovery Museum. The children had the opportunity to learn about solids, liquids and gases in a hands on workshop using dry ice and liquid nitrogen.
The second and third grade students were treated to a historical performance/ presentation by Sheryl Faye, Susan B Anthony for Grades 2&3, and Anne Frank for Grade 4&5.
